Which Ex certifications an Ex product needs to obtain is determined by the product category and application scenarioses.
Domestically, Ex products are currently divided into mining-Ex products and non-mining-Ex products.
Mining-Ex products used in coal mine sites must obtain Coal Mine Safety Certification (MA Certification). This requires not only testing the product’s explosion-proof performance and standard performance but also adopting the certification mode of product testing + factory inspection + supervision review, commonly known as factory audit and annual review. Applicants must have their own manufacturing factory or an authorized OEM factory.
Non-mining-Ex products have two certification options:
China Compulsory Certification (CCC-Ex): For products within the CCC-Ex catalogue, they must obtain a CCC-Ex certificate. The certification mode involves product testing + factory inspection + supervision review.
Ex Certificate Certification: For products outside the CCC-Ex catalogue, only product testing is required. An Ex Certificate will be issued if the product meets the requirements of the relevant GB/T 3836 standards.
For exported Ex products, additional Ex certifications complying with the requirements of the destination country/region must be obtained, such as ATEX Certification, IECEx Certification, North American Ex certification, South Korean Ex certification, and Japanese Ex certification.
